Killarney in Winter

The Freeland Trail (view pictured above) in Killarney Provincial Park provided us with a wonderful escape from civilization, while not being too far away from our lodgings in the Killarney townsite.  Our drive to this off season playland required driving more than 6 hours in less than friendly winter road conditions, but was well worth it!

We stayed at the Sportsman’s Inn during our stay, and enjoyed solitude while sharing the property with a few hotel guests, and a reasonable number of snowmobiling enthusiasts who kept the Pub space interesting during our stay.

Snowshoeing on the Granite Ridge Trail provided excellent views of the La Cloche Mountains as well as Georgian Bay.
